Police and Fleet Towing in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado
Two kinds of customers depend on a tow company more than anyone: law enforcement agencies that need a scene cleared quickly and safely, and businesses that need their vehicles back in service. Both need the same things. They need someone who answers the phone at 3 a.m., shows up with the right truck, and does the job without creating new problems. Choice Towing & Recovery provides police towing and commercial fleet towing across Larimer and Weld counties, from light-duty cars to heavy trucks. Call 970-482-0159.
Towing for Law Enforcement
When an officer calls for a tow, the clock is running. A wreck is blocking a lane on I-25, a disabled vehicle is sitting in a dangerous spot on US-287, or a vehicle needs to be removed after an arrest or an abandoned-vehicle complaint. What agencies need from a tow provider:
- Round-the-clock dispatch. Our dispatchers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- The right equipment the first time. Our fleet of over 20 trucks, trailers and service vehicles ranges from flatbeds to heavy duty wreckers.
- Scene safety. Our operators work alongside police and fire on active roadways and follow their direction on traffic control.
- Clean scenes. We clear vehicles and sweep debris so lanes reopen quickly. See accident recovery.
- Heavy capability. Semi wrecks, bus incidents and commercial vehicle crashes are handled by our WreckMaster Certified heavy towing operators. See semi-truck towing.
If Your Vehicle Was Towed at Police Request
If your vehicle was towed by order of law enforcement and Choice Towing has it, here is what to expect:
- Call us at 970-482-0159 to confirm we have the vehicle and where it is held.
- Check whether there is a police hold. Some vehicles are held for investigation, evidence or other reasons and cannot be released until the agency clears them. If there is a hold, you will need to contact the agency directly.
- Bring identification and proof of ownership.
- Pay the applicable fees. In Colorado, the Public Utilities Commission sets maximum rates for law enforcement-ordered tows. You can review the current rates on the Colorado PUC towing rates page. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and cash.
Commercial Fleet Towing
Fleet vehicles are the backbone of a lot of Northern Colorado businesses: contractors, delivery services, utilities, property management companies, rental agencies, dealerships and municipal fleets. When one of those vehicles goes down, a fleet manager needs one phone number that covers every vehicle in the yard. Choice handles:
- Light-duty fleet vehicles: sedans, pickups, SUVs and cargo vans
- Medium-duty trucks: box trucks, service-body trucks, delivery trucks and small buses
- Heavy trucks: tractor-trailers, dump trucks, cement mixers and buses
- Equipment moves: forklifts, scissor lifts, skid steers and other light equipment. See equipment hauling.
- Roadside service: jump-starts, lockouts, tire changes and fuel delivery to keep vehicles moving without a tow
What Happens on a Fleet Call
A fleet call should be simple for the driver and clear for the office. When your driver or dispatcher calls 970-482-0159, we take down the unit number, location, vehicle type and the problem. If the vehicle can be fixed roadside, we send a service truck. If it needs a tow, we send the right size truck and confirm the destination, whether that is your yard, a dealer or a repair shop. Drivers who are not sure of their location can share it from our Send Location page. Once the job is done, the details your office needs for billing and records come from the same dispatch team.
Fleet Accounts and Billing
Businesses that want to set up a charge account can fill out our credit application, linked from our contact page. We also work with fleet roadside programs. Our business partners include FleetNet America, along with Allstate Motor Club, GEICO, NSD and Quest.
Why Local Matters for Fleets
National dispatch networks route fleet calls to whoever accepts the job. When you call Choice directly, you are talking to a locally, independently owned and operated towing company based at 209 N. Link Lane in Fort Collins, with a second location in Greeley. Our dispatchers know the area, from the industrial parks off I-25 and Prospect to the farm and energy traffic on US-85 north of Greeley. Our operators know which roads and bridges can carry heavy loads. That local knowledge saves time on every call, and saved time is what keeps a fleet on schedule and a highway open.
Coverage Area
We provide police and fleet towing throughout Larimer and Weld counties along I-25, US-34, US-85 and US-287. That includes Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Windsor, Timnath, Wellington, Berthoud, Johnstown, Milliken, Severance, Laporte, Bellvue, Pierce, Nunn, Carr, Lucerne, Livermore, Masonville, Drake and Glen Haven. We can typically arrive within 20 to 30 minutes of a call, depending on location and conditions.
